Solent Credit Union (formerly Sanctuary Credit Union and Co-operators Credit Union) has been running for several years as a credit union covering Southampton. Anyone over the age of 16 who lives in the SO postal district can join.  There is a one off joining fee of £1 for all adult members.

Credit Unions help their members save regularly and provide affordable loans.  Solent Credit Union is run and owned by the members, who work for the benefit of other members and the local community.

Solent Credit Union currently shares office facilities with SCRATCH and was initiated by Southampton City Mission (the founding charity for SCRATCH).
